Joe is West Michigan native and focuses his practice on lakefront property in Barry County. He is a resident of Wall Lake in Hope Township, where his family has owned lakefront property for over 100 years. He is a 2002 graduate of Hastings High School where he was involved in sports, student council and community service. Upon graduation, he was appointed to attend the United State Air Force Academy where he played linebacker on the football team for four years. After graduation, Joe transferred to the Army and spent the next five years as an Infantry Platoon Leader and Ranger Instructor. He also served a tour of duty in Afghanistan.
